our ministry

The Healing Place is a ministry of volunteers committed to glorifying God through our counseling skills.  This team donates their time to our counselees so that hope can be restored and relationships can be mended.  This ministry is supported by the generosity of West Conroe Baptist Church, resource fees, and private donations.

We also have Licensed Counselors within this ministry who provide fee based (self pay, medicaid, and several insurances) services and probono services.  

our beliefs

  • The Bible is the supreme source of truth and authority.
  • There is one God, existing eternally in three persons - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was sacrificed to for our sins so that we may be saved.
  • The Holy Spirit makes sinners aware of their need for Christ and He lives within every person who embraces faith in Jesus Christ for their salvation. 
  • Salvation comes only through God's saving grace, not human effort, and must be received personally by repentance and faith.  This is our hope for all who attend our services but it is the counselees choice and here, regardless of choice, you will be treated with the love of Christ.
  • Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity.  If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot "lose" it.  Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.  It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security.

Are you interested in becoming a Lay Counselor or beginning a counseling ministry?  We'd love to help you expand the Kingdom of God!

Lay counselor training

This class teaches the basics of Christian counseling.  There is a $15 resource fee for each attendee and you will receive a certificate upon successful completion of training.  The attendee must be present for the entire training.

There are 3 phases to create a Christian counseling ministry:
  1. Response to the Calling
  2. Creating a Structure
  3. Glorifying God
